The Group was founded in 1946 and officially registered on 11th December 1946 (Scout Group Registration Number 24978) as 5th Tilbury (Wesley Hall). On 29th December 1969 we became a "Sea Scout Group" and on 16th March 1971 the "5th" and "Wesley Hall" was dropped from our name and we became Tilbury Sea Scouts as we are still known today. Also in 1971 we added our Skull & Crossbones Group Badge to our uniforms.
We are a Sea Scout Group and are extremely proud of our Scarlet and Emerald scarves and our "Blue Shirts".
The Tilbury Sea Scout Group is one of the largest within the Thurrock District of Essex. We offer a wide range of land and water activities for all of our members. Last years census showed 103 members and this year our numbers are still on the increase.
We meet at our Scout Headquarters, 49 Northview Road, Tilbury, Essex, RM18 7RT. Please see the individual section pages for meeting days & times.
